Testicular Pain

As men get older, some of the most common health problems they develop are related to their bladder and prostate. Testicular pain is a common condition treated by urologists. Classified by general pain in and around the testicles, testicle pain levels range from mild to severely debilitating.

Trauma to the testes may cause a more significant injury that may require emergency surgery.

The pain felt in your testicles does not always mean the source is in your testicles; it could be pain caused by another area of the body such as in the abdomen or groin.

Additional Information

Because the testicles are very sensitive, even a minor injury can cause pain. Common causes of testicle pain include:

  • Injury
  • Trauma / Torsion (this may be an emergency)
  • Kidney Stones
  • Infection or swelling of the sperm ducts
  • Twisting of the testicles that can cut off the blood supply
  • Nerve damage
  • Testicle cancer

Different pain relievers and anti-inflammatory medications can help to resolve testicular pain, however, sometimes surgery may be needed for chronic pain.
